Inuksuk Ventures exists to guide founders and investors through the difficult terrain of health innovation, backing the science that can change the standard of care for patients around the world. A venture firm should answer to more than its investors. We hold ourselves accountable to the founders we back, the people we employ, the communities we serve and the patients who will one day depend on the companies we fund.
Our Path to B Corp
Status: In progress
We are working toward B Corp Certification, the standard set by the nonprofit B Lab for businesses that meet verified requirements for social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. We are not yet a Certified B Corporation. Throughout our incorporation we built stakeholder accountability into our governing documents and commit to completing B Lab’s assessment and review. We will adopt the policies the standards require across governance, fair work, inclusion, human rights, and climate. We share our progress in this process on this page; stay tuned as we complete each step.
How We Invest Responsibly
Our responsibility extends to every company we back. We screen each potential investment for ethical, environmental and human rights risks during diligence, and we do not invest in industries excluded under B Lab’s standards. After we invest, we work with founders to build sound governance, fair workplaces, and responsible clinical and commercial practices, so that a company’s success reaches the patients it was built to serve.

We have written accountability to all our stakeholders into our governing documents and report openly on our progress.
Fair work
We will pay fairly, set clear workplace policies and give every team member regular feedback and room to grow.
Justice, equity, diversity and inclusion
We will source founders and build our team from a wide range of backgrounds, institutions, and communities.
Human rights
We will respect human rights in our operations and our portfolio and give anyone affected by our work a way to raise concerns.
Climate action
We will measure our firm’s greenhouse gas emissions and set targets to reduce them.
Environmental stewardship
We will reduce waste and resource use in our own operations.
Collective action
We will be transparent about any policy engagement work and strive to work with partners like the NVCA to strengthen the innovation ecosystem.
